I think I could’ve lived without knowing the political opinions of the guy I watch for dead mall videos.
Et tu, Retail Archaeology?
*unsubbed*
It’s not that serious for me.
Personally, I think strikes are a nuclear option, and should be the last resort.
Yeah, and the management hasn’t been willing to come to a deal in over a year.
Like, I don’t reblog this out of general union solidarity, I reblogged this because *I VOTED FOR THE STRIKE.* Like, two weeks ago.
It’s my butt that might be going on strike at the end of july.
I finally got a new job away from ups about a year ago. Last thing i recall was higher ups stopping manangement from hiring new specialists despite that position having people constantly quit because of the work load and they were just about to get rid of the part time supervisors position across the district, a move my manager learned the exact time all the rest of us did. I assume its only gotten worse from there?
It depends pretty much on each district but yeah it’s… not good. I don’t know about the supervisor positions, but I DO know that on the ground we’re having constant staffing shortages what with new hires are getting basically a dollar over what mcdonalds offers, for less hours.
But basically until the NATIONAL contract is settled, we can’t even get into the local ones, so it’s a damn mess.
